Who we are
ResinDrivewayCosts is operated by Known by One, LLC (131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA), the data controller responsible for your personal information. For any privacy question or request, contact us at contact@resindrivewaycosts.co.uk.
Information we collect
- Quote request details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, postcode, and the project information you enter (driveway size, finish, base condition, region, estimate and timeframe).
- Estimate email: if you ask us to email you your estimate, your email address and the calculator inputs, used to send that requested email. We do not add it to a marketing list; delivery providers may retain operational records.
- Reported quotes: if you tell us a real quote you have received, we receive the amount, VAT basis, quote/payment month, scope, optional depth and calculator inputs, plus a receipt ID and the model version. We request no name, contractor details, contact information or full postcode. These self-reported records are retained in a structured database or our editorial inbox for price research and possible future aggregated statistics, with your consent.
- Technical and usage data: collected automatically, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and how you use the site, via our hosting provider and any analytics we use.
Optional tools and postcode lookup
The written-quote comparator and kit inputs stay in your browser unless you separately submit a form. Shared estimate links include measurements and project choices in the link fragment, without contact details. Anyone you share the link with can read those choices. Calculator usage events can include the project choices and selected region, but not contact details.
If you choose postcode lookup on the planning page, we send the postcode to Postcodes.io through our server to retrieve nation and council-area information. We do not save the lookup postcode in a price report or application database. Hosting and the lookup provider may process technical logs. Northern Ireland uses manual selection without requesting detailed postcode data. You can use the checklist without a lookup. See Postcodes.io for provider information.
How and why we use it
- To match you with installers and pass your enquiry to them so they can provide quotes — our lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the quote form.
- To send you the estimate you asked for — our lawful basis is performance of a contract (you requested it). We do not add you to any list or send marketing email.
- To operate, secure and improve the site and respond to your messages — our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in running the service.
- To comply with the law where we are legally required to.
Optional price reports are collected with your consent for price research. Retain the receipt reference if you want us to find, correct or delete a report. We review whether reports remain useful as the model changes; outdated, duplicate or unsuitable records can be removed from analysis. We do not publish individual reports as verified transactions.
Who we share it with
When you request quotes, we share the details you provide with one or more third-party resin driveway installers so they can contact you with a quote. Each installer is an independent business and an independent controller of your data once we pass it to them. We also use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf — including Cloudflare (email delivery, DNS and optional structured quote storage), Slack (internal alerts about new enquiries, containing your postcode area and project details but not your name or contact details) and Vercel (website hosting). We may disclose information where required by law. We do not sell your personal data for unrelated purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep quote enquiries only as long as needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping and to handle any queries, after which we delete or anonymise them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email contact@resindrivewaycosts.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
We use only the cookies and similar technologies needed to run the site and understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
International transfers
Known by One, LLC is incorporated in the United States, so your information may be processed outside the UK. Where it is, we take steps to ensure it is protected by appropriate safeguards as required by UK data protection law.
